What's New Cupcake?

At our annual book fair a few years ago I stumbled upon Hello Cupcake it was such a cute book.  Then this past book fair I found the follow-up book.  Of course I hadn't made one cupcake from the first book...so with the purchase of the next book I committed to making something from the new book.

White Chocolate Egg Shells on mini cupcakes

I'm happy to say the only thing hard about these was pre-making the eggshells a day or two before.  I only had one mold so I patiently went through the process a few times to make enough eggshells for two  sets of 18 eggs.  The cupcakes were a huge hit.  


Trick: The book suggest using plastic eggshells to make molds.  I went to our local cake shop and found a mold Classic Cake Decorations


Second Opportunity- Student Council Banquet & a cupcake contest.  My son decided on the Chinese Food.  They were fun to make and it actually turned out as a great family night.  Yes, my husband got into the act too.  The kids couldn't believe these weren't store bought (neither could the moms).  I also didn't go Martha the recipe making the cupcakes from a boxed cake recipe and using pre-made frosting.

I only brought a dozen, they were the first to go.

See? Even the husband got involved.
